*BIO* 101 (3 credit course)
Morphology and life circle of plants and animals. A general study of plants and animals groups from virus, algae/fungi to chordates. Structural and functional study of animals and plants cells, tissues, organs and system: Taxonomic, physiologic and developmental studies of plants and animals. Reproduction, genetic hereditary substances, mechanism is nuclear division and Stem cell formtion. Evolution and natural selection. Biology and practical demonstration.

Units and dimensions, vector algebra; rectilinear motion, Newton's laws of motion; work, energy and power; conservation of energy, impulse and momentum, collisions uniform circular motion; Rotation; Relation between equation of linear motion and rotational motion, conservation of angular momentum, momentum of inertia, hydrostatics; Archimedes, principal, surface tension, fluid flow and viscosity, poiseuille's Law.

This includes selected experiments from different areas of physics. This course is take over the first and second semester.

An introduction to atomic structure and electronics configuration of the elements. Electronic theory of valency. The periodic classification and the general study of the elements with emphasis on similarities and differences based on position in the periodic table. Radioactivity and its applications. Kinetic theory and the laws of gases. Properties of dilute solutions. Thermochemisty, chemistry energy electrolytes and ionic equilibria. Theory of acids, base and indicators. Phase equilibrium study and multi-component systems and application in partition and absorption chromatography. Chemistry practicals and demonstration.
