Chioma speaks on abandoning school for marriage with Davido

 

Davido’s girlfriend, Chioma has reacted to reports that she abandoned her education to be with the OBO crooner.
Earlier on Wednesday, the social media was agog with reports that Chioma abandoned her education in Babcock University.

The report claimed that her father is unhappy with her refusal to focus on education and become a graduate before getting married.

According to the viral report, Chioma is expected to have graduated since 2016 after she gained admission to study Economics in 2012. However, she is still in her third year.

Responding to the reports, the Chef shared a post on her Instagram page.

Chelsea have earmarked Manchester United forward Anthony Martial as the ideal replacement for Eden Hazard, claims The Times.

Hazard is widely expected to join Real Madrid this summer in a blockbuster deal worth more than £150m and Chelsea will need to sign a replacement.
Chelsea have only signed Jorginho from Napoli this summer and time is running out to bolster their squad ahead of the new season.
The Blues have been heavily linked with a move for United forward Martial all summer and have finally identified the France international as their top candidate to replace Hazard.
Martial has rejected an improved contract from United and his agent has confirmed his client wants to leave Old Trafford after running out of patience with Jose Mourinho.
United are set to trigger their right in Martial’s existing contract to an extra 12 months, which would effectively tie down the 22-year-old until 2020. 
While Martial does not feature prominently in Mourinho’s plans, United chief executive Ed Woodward is desperate not to sell the talented Frenchman.
United would be aggrieved to sell Martial to a direct Premier League rival, but German giants Bayern Munich are also ready to move for the starlet.
With Franck Ribery and Arjen Robben both coming to their end of their careers, Bayern need to bolster their wide areas and believe Martial is perfect for the club.
Martial has only started 36 of a possible 76 league matches under Mourinho and his best performances have tended to come from the bench.
In fact, no player scored or assisted more Premier League goals as a substitute than Martial last season (6).

Chioma accepts Davido’s proposal

 

Popular music act lover, Chioma Rowland  has finally accepted an unofficial proposal of her boyfriend, Davido, after the latter publicly declared to the world that he wants to spend the rest of his life with her.
This was gathered after Davido shared a post on his Instagram page with title: ‘The love of my life, can’t wait to spend forever with you’

Chioma crowned it all by saying ‘yes’ to the ring-less proposal right in the comment section, saying she also wants to spend her life with the Yoruba Angel.

JAMB LATEST UPDATE ABOUT ADMISSION AND INSTRUCTIONS TO CANDIDATES AND INSTITUTIONS

 
JAMB urges institutions to update post-UTME candidates’ lists


Bwari (Abuja) – The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) on Thursday urged all institutions preparing for post-UTME and other processes leading to admissions to update their candidates’ list from the Central Admission Processing System (CAPS).

The board’s Head of Media, Dr Fabian Benjamin, made the call in an interview in Abuja.
He said that the update was necessary to ensure that all candidates who made recent changes in their choice of institutions were properly captured.

Benjamin said that the board had received complaints from candidates who had made changes but could not register for the 2018 post-UTME in the new institutions they chose because their details did not reflect on the portal of the institutions.

The update, he explained, was necessary and if not done, changes made by prospective candidates would not be reflected.

“These changes have been reflected on the CAPS portal, but the institutions have not updated their lists, hence, candidates are not able to register for the post-UTME.

“Most of these institutions are still holding unto what was made available to them at the policy meeting in June.




CAPS empower candidates to make changes to programmes and institutions of their choice at anytime except where institutions request the board to block its page to enable it to prepare for the conduct of its post-UTME.

“For ease of management of candidates, institutions make requests to the Board to prevent candidates from choosing them at certain periods closer to the conduct of their post-UTME.

“This is because some candidates may still make changes in the morning of the exercise or even during the conduct thereby constituting serious challenges to managing the exercise.

“We are appealing to all institutions to quickly update their lists now to save these candidates from the trauma of coming to the board to complain.”

Benjamin said that changes made by candidates automatically reflect on the CAPS portal but would take the continuous update or download of the lists by the various institutions to reflect on the schools’ portal.

He said that the update, if not made, would continue to appear only on JAMB’s portal but not on the portal of such institution(s).

According to him, the aim of CAPS will be achieved only if all institutions consistently effect the updates.

NAN recalls that leaders of institutions at the board’s policy meeting in June had agreed that the First Choice Admission Exercise would be conducted between July 2 and Oct. 16.

The Second Choice Admission is scheduled to hold between Oct. 17 and Dec. 17.

THE 11YEARS OLD BOY THAT MAKES A PORTRAIT OF FRANCE PRESIDENT FINALLY MEET HIM

 


I will tell you a story about talent and hard work. Which should come first?
It’s going to be a long read.
First thing, I will also like to re-echo my constant words that “in 20 years’ time, ‘rock bottom’ will produce famous people more than ‘privilege.’”
This afternoon, I had a chat with hubby about Olamilekan, that is the young 11-year-old who met with the President of France and drew his portrait in less than two hours.
Well, let me explain. At the Afrika Shrine, where the French President went yesterday, the boy went to work and came out with a perfect ortrait of Macron. The President was so thrilled that he said “This is exceptional”.
Let’s talk about Olamilekan.
He’s from a poor background. Rock bottom background! To most of us who see ourselves as average, Olamilekan sees us as privileged. He’s so poor that he said: “In his family, they have to toil and sweat before they can put food on the table.” So he made a portrait showing a young boy with sweat all over him putting food on his table.
Olamilekan was so emotional when he was speaking to BBC about that art work that I could sense the tears in his words. He called it his favourite.
He is barely 11 years and he understands poverty and struggle so much that he could make a picture of it. Then you need to understand where he’s coming from.
Secondly, if you saw the house where Olamilekan was interviewed, you will understand his roots — his life and his story.
I was drawn to him when I first saw the interview and downloaded the video to share with my son. You will also agree that I have posted his videos here more than twice. I was touched.
Let me tell you a secret that many people don’t know.
You see, Olamilekan has a mother who is futuristic. She understands the dynamics of success. Although poor, she is not blind. Olamilekan said: “When I was six, I started drawing. My mother noticed it and took me to an artist to learn under him.”
First, she understands the place of talent, nurturing, mentoring and hard work. She saw a son who loved to draw decided to NURTURE the TALENT by enrolling him with an artist, who will MENTOR and TRAIN him so that his TALENT can boom.
This attribute that his mother showed is not learnt at Harvard. As a matter of truth, the most sophisticated and learned mothers/fathers don’t have it; they are shallow. They only understand the place of academics so they put their kids in an expensive school and pay for them to do another LESSON during breaks, especially the end-of-session break that is fast approaching and bug their heads with books without any opportunity to nurture the creative in them. Every single soul on earth has a TALENT and for most of them, without proper mentoring, they will miss it.
Another thing is, she understands the role of TALENT before HARD WORK. Let me tell you another story. You remember Olajumoke and ‘Taju goes to School’, right? Well, Olajumoke became famous for photo-bombing a prominent British model’s photo-shoot and fame smiled on her. However, Olajumoke, though hardworking, has a no visible talent that we can pin her to. She is amazing and hardworking but what is her TALENT? What does she have to give to SUSTAIN the FAME?
And you will notice that where Olamilekan was recognized, Olajumoke wasn’t. Olajumoke was popular on Nigerian social media and media stations but Olamilekan got a global recognition with top media stations. One of his videos has over 4.5 million views. I was elated. I was screaming and showing hubby the statistic.
After the BBC Africa interview, BBC International showed him and Aljazeera, not wanting to duplicate BBC’s video, came to interview him too. You can imagine the role of talent. It’s like saying Olajumoke should come back and photo-bomb. It’s simply not achievable. But with talent, you can have a ‘come-back-to’ factor every time.
The Bible says “a man’s gift makes way for him and makes him stand before Kings and not mere men”. And I always tell hubby that TALENT before HARD WORK. It’s when you understand the TALENT you have that you can now put in HARD WORK.
Hard work has it reward and it sometimes comes late but TALENT is a show-stopper. TALENT catapults you into greatness. Talk about Ronaldo or Serana Williams and the many talents around us.
I keep screaming it, parents need to do more. Olamilekan may not be the most brilliant boy in his class. He may not even be going to a private school for all you know, but he has a mother who knows what greatness smells like and I tell you, greatness is not in wealth or in books but in the mental growth of everyone. The day we all realize that we need to first know the talent that God has given us and how to nurture it, that is the day we have stopped EXISTING and have started LIVING.
Olamilekan’s story can never remain the same again. He said: “I want to be like Michelangelo. and I was like ‘Tosin, how did he know this guy?’ Looking at his background, who told him the story of the great artist?
Who are the ones your kids want to be like? Who are the people your kids live up to? Who are they? What story are you relating to them? You think if his mother was telling him about Slay Queen, he will know Michelangelo? What are you saying around your kids?
And summer break is coming, some people are thinking of enrolling their kids in school again. Some are thinking otherwise.
What are you thinking? What on earth are you thinking?
I have said it million times, in 20 years, we are going to see the reward of our investments.

No more School Fees: FG declares tuition free at All Federal Universities

 

According to the Federal Executive Council on Wednesday, no federal university should charge tuition fees. The Minister of State for Education, Anthony Anwuka, stated this while briefing State House correspondents after the cabinet meeting presided over by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo.
Daily Trusts reports that the minister said the council discussed the school fees being charged by various universities “and noted that as of law, no federal university should charge tuition fees.”

Anwuka, also stated that the council understood that some federal universities charged fees per course unit, saying that the government would investigate and make sure it is stopped. The minister said the National Universities Commission had been directed to clarify and update the council on the matter.

    “We understand some universities now charge fees per course unit and we are going to make sure that we investigate that properly and make it stop.

    “Students can pay other auxiliary fees, but not in excess. Various university councils and management should be able to fix what fees students should pay that is affordable and acceptable to the students. That is the position.

    “The federal government does not determine fees for private and state universities. It only takes responsibility for fees paid in the federal universities.”

The council has approved the insurance of provisional licence for the the establishment of Skyline University in Kano, the minister noted

JAMB Latest Update Admission.

 

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has released cut-off points for this year’s admission into universities,polytechnics,colleges of education and monotechnics..

The minimum cut off marks for admissions into universities in Nigeria was set for 120, polytechnics, innovative enterprising institutes and colleges of education pegged at 100, while that of was pegged at 110.

Institutions are, however, at liberty to raise their cut off marks for admission above the minimum set by JAMB.

These decisions were taken at the 2018 Combined Policy Meetings on Admissions into Tertiary Institutions in Nigeria.

JAMB Registrar, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede said institutions, with the decision, are not to go below the minimum cut-off points adopted at the meeting for admissions.

According to him, “What JAMB has done is to recommend; We will only determine the minimum, whatever you determine as your admission cut-off mark is your decision


N/B: JAMB cut off mark for UI, OAU, UNIBEN, UNILAG, UNN and other competitive schools is 200.

On Monday, July 2, Nigeria's Sports Minister Barrister Solomon Dalung directed the present Nigeria Football Federation (NFF) board under the leadership of Amaju Pinnick to step down. Dalung made the announcement through his media aide claiming that he has been told by Attorney General of the Federation to tell the NFF to obey the court judgement. It was reported in the media that the Supreme Court in April overturned the election of NFF president Amaju Pinnick who has been in office since September 2014.

He acted due to the announcement of the Sports Minister directing Amaju Pinnick board to obey court's judgement in which will be in Giwa's favor. Should FIFA ban Nigeria, then it means the country's Female Under 20 team will no longer participate in the World Cup in France starting in August. The Super Eagles will also be stopped from playing the qualifiers for the 2019 African Cup of Nations championship

Great Samuel Okwaraji but not many actually know his true story

 
 
 Millennials have one way or the other heard of the story of the great Samuel Okwaraji but not many actually know his true story
What most people know is; he was a patriotic and legendary football player who died while on the pitch playing which actually is true.
It was a historical yet tragic day on the 12th of August, 1989, at the National Stadium, Lagos, during Nigeria’s World Cup qualifying March with Angola.
A dreadlocked Nigerian midfielder, Samuel Sochukwuma Okwaraji popularly known as Sam Okwaraji who had a masters in international law from the University of Rome, Okwaraji slumped ten minutes from the end of the match and died from congestive heart failure at the age of 25.
Autopsy showed that Okwaraji who also entered the record books as the fastest scorer, at the 1988 Africa Cup of Nations which was the only edition he featured, had an enlarged heart and high blood pressure.
His team mates who spoke to Sports Village Square, said that the late football legend will always be a hero.
Etim Esin, a Super Eagles player who witnessed the incident said;
“I don’t like remembering the sad incident. It was the worst game in my career. Okwaraji’s death remains one of the greatest shocks I ever got.”
His teammate Austin Eguavoen, who went ahead to become Super Eagles coach said;
“This is not a good episode for me to recount. Remember that apart from Okwaraji, there were some other deaths among the fans. I weep any time I remember August 12″

10 people are reported to have died in an accident that occurred on Kaduna

 


10 people are reported to have died in an accident that occurred on Kaduna-Kano expressway on Saturday. The accident occurred around Nuhu Bamalli Polytechnic, Zaria, at about 5:30 a.m.

The Head of Public Enlightenment, Zaria Unit Command of the Federal Road Safety Commission, Idris Yahaya, confirmed the accident and casualty saying the “pathetic’’ accident involved three vehicles, a luxury bus; a car; and an articulated vehicle. 
“There are 48 persons in the three vehicles; nine people got burnt to death, while one other woman died in the hospital, 31 persons were injured while seven persons survived the accident. The driver of the luxury bus is receiving treatment at Ahmadu Bello University Teaching Hospital, Shika, Zaria’’ he said.

The unit commander said that the injured persons were also receiving treatment at the hospital, while the bodies of the dead had been deposited at the same hospital.

World Cup 2018: See How Much FIFA Will Pay Super Eagles After Crashing Out

 


The Super Eagles of Nigeria and other teams that crashed out on the group stages of the 2018 World Cup will be paid only £6.1 million each by the football governing body, FIFA.

 Nigeria would have received £9.1 million if the match against Argentina ended in their favour.

 This is because any team eliminated from the round of 16 stage will receive £9.1million.
The World Cup winning team will receive £28 million in prize money from FIFA, with 2nd, 3rd and 4th place teams receiving £21million, £18million and £16million respectively.

 This means that for the World Cup winners, each player in the 23 man squad would pocket £1.2million.
The 32 teams were also given £1.1million each to prepare for the tournament.

ME: **calm he down***, sikirat, its not what you think, diseases
like HIV or “hepatomadetis” can be contacted.
SIKIrAT: **straight face***, what is hepatomadetis?
ME:****wetin sef?, why I go just mention something wey no
exist. Thought for a while****. Its a disease from metals like
shared blade, the blade might be used somewhere before and
repackaged. If the person has the disease, both of us will contact
it and die slowly.
SIKIRAT: ok, what can you do to assure me that I’m save?,
ME: ***took a deep sigh***. Ok, I will not be close with janet
again.
SIKIRAT: are you sure?
ME: yes
She was bit convinced, still Unclad but mr Joystick is dead, we were
there for a while, looking at each other’s face.
SIKIRAT: oya let’s continue what we are doing.
ME: I’m not in the mood.
Sikirat looked at me and smiled. “Sebi its becos of the convenant

Not really.
Sikirat came closer, grabbed my Joystick, held it and started a
handjob, then proceeded to Mouth Action. gradually, mr Joystick
responded, we ended with a round of sweet s*x before she depart
for market.
The next lesson period came, janet had called me at 12pm to
remind me of the water melon she told me to bring earlier.

How do I act that sikirat will not be offended and janet will not

Now that I was beginning to like janet, how do I go about it?.

Suddenly, I stopped thinking and proceeded to the white house at
1pm.
When it was 1pm, I reached the gate, knocked and entered the
house, I didn’t meet janet, sikirat was the only one at home.

Me: Boy what?
SikiRAT:”Why are u asking?, sebi u said you are not dating her?”
ME: yes, I am not, but she was supposed to attend my lessons,
SiKIRAT: then let her be. By the way, what are you holding in the
nylon in your hand
ME: water melon. Janet begged me to buy it for her and she will
pay me.
SIKIRAT: you see, I said it that you and aunty janet are up to
something. So you have been bringing fruits for her abi?, so me I
am a mugu for bring something for you abi?
ME: I went closer to her, held her hands and calm her. “Sikirat
teminikan sooso, no one will ever take me away from you, I
promise” I said to her
**** Sikirat was wearing a short top and an apron***, what
should I offer you?
ME: anything.
SIKIRAT: anything?, like bosom?
I giggled and smiled, sikirat drew closer to me on the chair, she
located my lips and kissed me passionately as if she was on
heat, I responded, located her bosom, squeezed it hard. She was
moaning, I checked the time, its 1:40pm, I know janet will be
back any moment from now. I took my hands from her chest and
lifted up her gown, pull her pants aside and finger bleeped her,
she was moaning and dripping on her dress.
Just abt 3minutes into the finger bleeping, she opened my zip
and was rubbing my Joystick when we heard a knock on the gate.
that is aunty janet coming, let’s stop and wait till friday night.
Within 1 minute, sikirat repackaged her self and acted as if she
doesn’t know me. Sikirat is not only skillful but also smart. She
walked into her room while janet came in.
Sikira!!!!!!!!!!!, janet screamed. Yes aunty “sikirat replied”. Go to
mama tope and tell to give you my cloth, while coming back, buy
a pack of always for me. She gave sikirat a sum of money while
sikirat went out, she looked at me with a kind of eyes like “this
people will be here alone ooooo”.
JaNET: something is smelling here
ME: ****scared****, something like what?
JANET: something like used under wear
ME: ****i looked at my hands, I remembered manipulation
sikirat****. Maybe its yours. Pls excuse me, I want to ease
myself
JANET: then go to your room or don’t you have room here?
ME: ***laughed*** I have forgotten ni, I went to wash my hands
and returned back to the living room.
ME: where are you coming from and who is the guy you went out
with?
JANET: why are u asking?, and how did you know I went out with
a guy?
ME: I saw both of you while I was coming
JaNET: so why didn’t you call me?
ME: I decided to wait till you are back.
JANET: well he is a DJ someone recommended for me.
ME: a DJ?, what for?
JANET: oooh, so sorry I didn’t tell you, next week saturday is my
birthday. I’m celebrating it here in this compound.
ME: ooh, dats cool, am I invited?
JANET:**hit my chest*** silly you, if you have 2 heads, don’t
come. You will see what I will do for you **she smiled**
ME: ok sha, my mind is at peace now, I was thinking the guy is
your boyfriend.

JaNET: but why?
ME: because I can’t watch one guy taking you away from me.
JANET: take me away from you?, are we dating?, did u ask me
out?, aren’t we friends? Bla bla bla.
ME: **confused on what to say. I held her two hands****: janet,
see, ever since we became close, I have loved you, I can’t stop
thinking about you, all my dreams are full of you, I hardly do
anything without the thoughts of you, ***sweet talk continues****
JANET: so what are you driving at?
ME: I want you to be my girlfriend. The person I will always love.
JANET: ***smiled***, well I will think about it. Just give me
some time.
ME: ok
I drew close to her and peck her on the chick, then whispered
into her ear “I can die if you say NO to me”. Janet smiled and
kissed me, pull my ear to her mouth and whispered. “What took
you so long”.
Chaiii, I was so excited that we couldn’t do lesson that day. We
were just hugging and talking about love. When sikirat arrived
from her errands, I pretend as if nothing happened. Then I told
janet. “I will come tomorrow, I am not feeling fine

WHO breaks new ground on excessive bleeding at childbirth

 


The World Health Organisation ( WHO )in collaboration with Ferring and MSD for Mothers, has broken new ground that could help save the lives of thousands of women by preventing excessive bleeding after childbirth, otherwise called postpartum haemorrhage (PPH).

 Every year, 14 million women are affected by PPH. Although most deaths are preventable, PPH is the leading direct cause of maternal death worldwide, causing approximately 70,000 deaths per year. It remains a major cause of maternal death in Nigeria.

 Results from the largest study conducted in prevention of PPH with nearly 30,000 women, in Nigeria and nine other low and lower-middle income countries, by WHO were published on Wednesday in the New England Journal of Medicine (NEJM).

 Titled ‘CHAMPION Clinical Trial’, the study obtained new data showing heat-stable carbetocin is as effective as oxytocin, the current standard of care, in preventing excessive bleeding following vaginal birth.

 Researched and developed by Ferring as a solution to address unmet needs in women’s health, heat-stable carbetocin remains effective at high temperatures, an answer to the limitation of oxytocin which must be stored and transported at 2 – 8°C.

 Studies in Nigeria and other developing countries have revealed degradation and loss of efficacy in oxytocin ampoules, which could be due to inadequate storage and distribution conditions, hence the need for the heat-stable carbetocin product.

 Data show that heat-stable carbetocin maintains effectiveness for at least three years at 30°C and six months at 40°C and has the potential to save thousands of women’s lives in Nigeria and other low- and lower-middle income countries, where 99% of PPH-related deaths occur and where the refrigeration of medicines can be difficult to achieve and maintain.

 The WHO publication concludes that the study should inform care in countries where cold-chain transport and storage of medicines is difficult to achieve and is a barrier to effective PPH prevention.

“This is an important step forwards in PPH prevention and these results pave the way for heat- stable carbetocin to potentially save the lives of thousands of women, especially in areas where cold-chain transport and storage is not feasible,” said Professor Klaus Dugi, Chief Medical Officer, Ferring Pharmaceuticals. “We will now work with the WHO and MSD for mothers to make heat- stable carbetocin available in countries where it is needed most, protecting women and families around the world.”

 The clinical study was conducted by the WHO Department of Reproductive Health and Research including the UNDP-UNFPA-UNICEF-WHO-World Bank Special Programme of Research, Development and Research Training in Human Reproduction (HRP), using Ferring’s heat-stable carbetocin, and funded by MSD for Mothers.


The Switzerland based pharmaceutical giant will now seek registrations and manufacture affordable heat-stable carbetocin and ensure it is available in the public sector of low- and lower-middle income countries that have a high burden of maternal mortality.
